Olivia Boykin

President

Soror Olivia Boykin is a senior from Bowie, Maryland majoring in Medicine, Health, and Society with minors in Spanish and Sociology. In addition to being the 2023-2024 President of the Mu Rho Chapter, you may see her around campus as a Tour Guide, Calculus Tutor, head of the MOSAIC Executive Board, on stage with Vitality Dance Company, or as a research intern in the Bohannon Lab in the Department of Anesthesiology at VUMC studying the impact of severe burn injuries on immune function. Last year, Soror Boykin served as the Financial Secretary of Mu Rho. Olivia also serves as the 2024 Collegiate Member of the Southern Region Nominating Committee. A fun fact about Soror Boykin is that she is obsessed with Criminal Minds and Grey’s Anatomy!

Lyric Jones

Vice President

Soror Lyric Jones is a junior from Indianapolis, Indiana majoring in Sociology, and Medicine, Health, and Society with a minor in Chemistry on the pre-medicine track. In addition to being the 2023-2024 Vice President of the Mu Rho Chapter, you may see her around campus as a BCC AmbassaDore, Secretary of United Against Inequities In Diseases, Secretary of the Minority Association of Pre-Medical Students, or on the Student and Administrative Support Committees for Vanderbilt Education on the Inside. A fun fact about Soror Jones is that she wants to travel to Bora Bora one day!

Dawn Efionayi

Treasurer

Soror Dawn Efionayi is a senior from Nashville, Tennessee majoring in Medicine, Health, and Society with a minor in Child Development, on the pre-nursing track. In addition to being the 2023-2024 Treasurer of the Mu Rho Chapter, you may see her around campus as the President of the Black Student Association, Treasurer of Voices of Praise, Shadowing Coordinator of the Pre-Nursing Society, or Tour Coordinator of the BCC AmbassaDores. A fun fact about Soror Efionayi is that she has been doing hair since she was 12 years old!

Emilia Onyeneho

Financial Secretary

Soror Emilia Onyeneho is a junior from Lowell, Massachusetts, double majoring in Biological Sciences and Medicine, Health and Society on the pre-medical track. In addition to being the 2023-2024 Financial Secretary of the Mu Rho chapter, you may see her around campus as a member of United Against Equities in Disease and a volunteer for the Vanderbilt Emergency Medical Society. A fun fact about Soror Onyeneho is that she played the viola for six years!

Haley Bishop

Corresponding Secretary

Soror Haley Bishop is a senior from Rock Hill, South Carolina, majoring in Communications and minoring in Sociology. Along with being the 2023-2024 Corresponding Secretary for the Mu Rho Chapter, you will see her around campus being the President of the Black Student-Athlete Group, Track and Field Representative for the Student Advisory Committee, and a member of the Women’s Track and Field Team. A fun fact about Soror Bishop is that she was the first person on the Vanderbilt Women’s Track in Field Team history to score in the 100m dash at the SEC Championships in 2022!

Cagnolatti

Recording Secretary

Soror Courtney Cagnolatti is a junior from Mokena, Illinois majoring in Medicine, Health, and Society. In addition to being the 2023-2024 Recording Secretary of the Mu Rho Chapter, you may see her around campus as a SyBBuRe research participant studying organ recovery, replacement and regeneration at VUMC, giving tours as a University tour guide, actively helping the BCC as a BCC AmbassaDore, and working with the Center of Student Wellbeing as a Peer Guide. A fun fact about Soror Cagnolatti is that she loves to bake and her dream as a child was to be on MasterChef junior!

Karalyn Smith-Ross

Social Action Chair

Soror Karalyn Smith-Ross is a senior from Chicago, Illinois majoring in Communication Studies with minors in African American Diaspora Studies and Poltical Science. In addition to being the 2023-2024 Social Action Chair of the Mu Rho Chapter, you may see her around campus as a BCC Student Cordinator or as the National Black Law Student Association Senior Advisor. Last year, Soror Smith-Ross served as the Chaplain of Mu Rho. A fun fact about Soror Smith-Ross is that she is an avid reader and has the goal of reading at least 1 book a month!

Kennedy Ringer

Community Service Chair

Soror Kennedy Ringer is a senior from Douglasville, GA majoring in English Literature with the distinction of honors and African American an Diaspora Studies. In addition to being the 2023-2024 Community Service Chair of the Mu Rho Chapter, you may see her around campus as an Ambassador for the Black Cultural Center or enacting change with Hidden Dores. A fun fact about Soror Ringer is that she can recite all of the Harry Potter movies word for word.

Joi Gordon

Parlimentarian

Next up is Soror Joi Gordon. She is a senior from Jonesboro, Georgia, majoring in Medicine, Health, and Society and Psychology and minoring in Human and Organization Development. In addition to being the 2023-2024 Parliamentarian of the Mu Rho Chapter, you may see her around campus as the President of HerCampus, one of the Co-Chair for ASU’s Black Girl Fest, and MOSAIC Recruitment Committee host and mentor. A fun fact about Soror Gordon is that she has been practicing American Sign Language for seven years.

Heaven Newson

Social Action Chair

Soror Newson is a senior from Memphis, Tennessee, majoring in Medicine, Health, and Society. In addition to being the 2023-2023 Sergeant-At-Arms of the Mu Rho Chapter, you may see her around campus shadowing in the VUMC through the Vanderbilt Pre-medical Society program, a member of the Vanderbilt NAACP Community Service committee, or a model for Vandy Vanity. A fun fact about Soror Newson is that she loves Beyoncé and plans to see her in concert soon!

Danait Issac

Chaplain

Soror Danait Issac is a senior from Stone Mountain, Georgia majoring in Medicine, Health, and Society and Gender & Sexuality Studies with a minor in Environmental and Sustainability Studies. In addition to being the 2023-2024 Chaplain of the Mu Rho Chapter, you may see her around campus as the Senior Advisor for the Ethiopian-Eritrean Student Association, Instructor and the Inclusivity Chair for Wilderness Skills 101, Project Outdoors volunteer, or as a research assistant in the CLARK Lab studying stigma-related stressors and suicide prevention. A fun fact about Soror Issac is that she loves paddleboarding!

Makayla Donald

Internal Audit Chair

Soror Makayla Donald is a junior from Stone Mountain, Georgia majoring in Medicine, Health, and Society with a minor in African-American Diaspora Studies. In addition to being the 2023-2024 Internal Audit Chair of the Mu Rho Chapter, you may see her around campus on the Martha Rivers Ingram Commons as an RA in North House, a photographer for the Vanderbilt Hustler, volunteer with Vanderbilt Volunteers for Science, memeber of the NAACP, participating in Alternative Spring Break, and as a front desk assistant at both Hank House and Branscomb Quad. A fun fact about Soror Donald is that she has a tote bag for every day of the week.

Delayno Mensah

Soror Delanyo Mensah is a senior from Athens, Ohio majoring in Human and Organizational Development. You may see her around campus as a Curb Scholar, Questbridge Mentor, Questbridge Career Fellow or taking pictures freelance and as a staff photographer for Strike Nashville. A fun fact about Soror Mensah is that she enjoys making oddly specific Spotify playlists for every occasion!

Simone Stokes

Soror Simone Stokes is a senior from Fayetteville, North Carolina majoring in Medicine, Health and Society and minoring in Spanish. You may see her around campus as External Vice President of NAACP, Senior Advisor the Caribbean Students Association, in the studio with VRS, or as a research intern in the Institute of Imaging Science studying paleo radiology. Last year, Soror Stokes served as the Recording Secretary and Parliamentarian. A fun fact about Soror Stokes is that she has played 3 instruments and loves to sing!!

Marlyssa Lee

Soror Lee is a Junior from Centerton, Arkansas double majoring in Child Studies and Molecular and Cellular Biology on the Pre- Nursing track. You may see her around campus the Programming Chair for the BCC AmbassaDore's, and as the founder and Co- President of Bold & Beautiful. A fun fact about Soror Lee she is currently learning Korean!

Nya McNutt

Soror Nya McNutt is a senior from Cleveland, Ohio majoring in Psychology and Medicine, Health, and Society, and minoring in Spanish for the Professions. On campus you may already know her as a Questbridge Scholar and Mentor, Office Assistant for the Department of Spanish & Portuguese and a former Representative for the Zeppos College Council. This academic year you may frequently find Soror McNutt doing photography for Vandy Vanity, collaborating with the Social Innovation Lab at the Wond’ry, or providing medical translation or interpretation services for Remote Area Medical and other clinics throughout the greater Nashville area. One fun fact about Soror McNutt is that she loves to draw and paint in her free time!

Tariah Lane

Soror Tariah Lane is a senior from Franklin, TN majoring in Communications with a minor in Cinema and Media Arts. In addition to serving as last year's Community Service Chair, around campus you may see her interning with the Margaret Cuninggim Women's Center, working at the Station B Post Office, playing intermural flag football, or serving as a leader on Vandy's Relay for Life Outreach team. A fun fact about Soror Lane is that she's a cancer survivor.

Joidyn Wester

Next up is Soror Joidyn Wester. She is a senior from Douglasville, Georgia majoring in Political Science and minoring in Gender and Sexuality Studies. You may see her around campus as the Committee Chair of Student Organizations and Community Building for Vanderbilt Student Government, a RA for EBI Residential College or as Political Activism Chair for NAACP. Outside of Vanderbilt, she works as a Fellow for ActBlue in the Outreach Democratic Politics and Elections Department. A fun fact about Soror Wester is that she loves to travel, and her favorite destination is always the beach!

Lesleigh Taylor

Soror Lesleigh Taylor is a junior from New Orleans, Louisiana double majoring in African American Diaspora Studies and Anthropology and minoring in French. You may see her around campus as Co-Treasurer and Project Safe Liaison of the Black Student Association, a research assistant in Vanderbilt's Reproductive Politics Lab studying the contested meaning of abortion, a mutual aid organizer and member of the New Life Dialogue Group for the Vanderbilt Prison Project, teaching science lessons to students at local elementary and middle schools for Vanderbilt Student Volunteers for Science, and as a staff stylist and content visionary for Strike Nashville. A fun fact about Soror Taylor is that she loves to listen to music and prides herself on her ability to curate the perfect playlist for any mood or situation!

Sydney Featherstone

Soror Sydney Featherstone is a senior from Clinton, Maryland double majoring in History and Art and double minoring in African American and Diaspora Studies as well as Medicine Health and Society. You may Sydney around campus serving as the Co-President of Vanderbilt's NAACP, teaching health lessons to elementary students at local schools with Volunteers4Health, researching with Jean Heard Library as a Buchanon fellow, playing the steel drums in the Steel Dores Pan Ensemble, serving on the Honor Council, dueling in Vanderbilt's club fencing team, and representing Vanderbilt as a Clinton Global Initiative University Fellow. A fun fact about soror Featherstone is that she loves to garden and has a total of ten plants!

Jailah Broadway

Soror Jailah Broadway is a junior from St. Louis, Missouri majoring in Medicine, Health, and Society with a minor in Business. In addition to being the 2023-2024 Technology Chair of the Mu Rho Chapter, you may see her around campus as the Vice President of HerCampus. A fun fact about Soror Broadway is that she loves Prison Break and Criminal Minds!

Paige Roberson

Soror Paige Roberson is a junior from Houston, Texas majoring in Molecular and Cellular Biology with a minor in Spanish for the Professions. You may see Paige around campus setting on the club volleyball team, as a social media manager for Bold & Beautiful, participating in the Vanderbilt Pre-Medical Society, volunteering with the American Red Cross club, participating in Generation Action, and as an intern in the Glazer Lab creating mutations on the gene SCN5A and studying the effects of these mutations on the likelihood of a patient developing a heart arrhythmia. A fun fact about Soror Roberson is that her favorite genre of music is zydeco.

Nyeshia Wright

Soror Wright is a Junior from Augusta, Georgia majoring in Psychology with a minor in French on the Pre-Law track. On campus you are sure to see her serving on the Save the Children Action Network club at Vandy or as a member of Vanderbilt's National Black Law Student Association. Also you can bet to find her in her favorite spot on campus, Central Library. A fun fact about Soror Wright is that she will be studying abroad at the American University of Paris in Paris, France next semester!

Oremeyi Daniyan

Soror Daniyan is a Junior from Mount Juliet, Tennessee majoring in Medicine, Health, and Society and minoring in Chemistry on a Pre-Med track. You may see her around campus as a stylist and editorial writer for Strike Magazine, as a member of the modeling team for Vandy Vanity or at VUMC in the Penn Lab where she works as a Research Intern doing retinal image analysis and studying opthamalogical diseases. A fun fact about Soror Daniyan is that she has 3 creative writing publications in Prose and Poetry!

Milan Ming

Soror Milan Ming is a senior from Atlanta, Georgia double majoring in Communications and African American Studies. You may see her around campus as a member of the Women’s Track and Field Team. She is also apart of Vanderbilt’s Black Student Athlete Group.  A fun fact about Soror Ming is that she had a speaking role in a movie when she was 11.

Madison Wise

Soror Wise is a Junior from Dunwoody, Georgia majoring in Medicine, Health, and Society and minoring in Human and Organizational Development. You may see her around campus as a Greek Inclusivity Alliance representative or as a Member of Vanderbilt Programming Board’s Homecoming and Fanatics committees. A fun fact about Soror Wise is that she is fluent in Spanish and has been speaking for 10 years.

Yasmine Shivere

Soror Yasmine Shivere is a senior from Miamisburg, OH majoring in Medicine, Health, and Society on the pre-medical track along with a minor in French. You may see her around campus as Treasurer of the 2023 NPHC Executive Board, serving the BCC and Black student community as a member of the BCC Ambassadores, and participating in the Minority Association of Pre-Medical Students. A fun fact about Soror Shivere is that she successfully graduated as valedictorian from her predominantly white highschool during Covid!
